Who Am I — And Why I Started This
Hi, I’m Kamel TLM, the founder and creator of Vanidad.fr — your digital space for everything soulful, expressive, and rhythmically captivating in the world of Bachata, Kizomba, Salsa, and Belly Dance. I created this platform from a place of passion — not profit.
Dancing has always been more than a hobby for me. It’s a way to connect with culture, release emotions, and feel alive. But I noticed something was missing in the French digital space: a curated, heart-led guide for those who crave deeper knowledge and access to these dance worlds. So, I built it.
This website is a growing library of inspiration, insights, and community stories — all centered on movement, music, and identity.
A Bit About Me – Kamel TLM
I was born and raised in France, in a multicultural neighborhood where music from the Dominican Republic, Angola, the Middle East, and Latin America echoed through radios and block parties. My curiosity led me to pursue a Bachelor’s in Performing Arts & Cultural Studies, with electives focused on Caribbean Dance History, North African Aesthetics, and Music Anthropology.
My academic journey was colorful, but it was my real-world immersion that truly shaped me.
My Journey Through Rhythm and Culture
Before launching Vanidad, I spent years exploring and teaching across dance floors — from underground Bachata socials in Marseille to cultural Kizomba workshops in Paris. I’ve worked closely with talented instructors, event organizers, and traditional artists across Europe.
My professional path has woven through event planning, content curation, and dance research writing. I’ve worked with music studios, cultural magazines, and even choreographed small fusion routines blending Belly Dance and Salsa footwork for local arts festivals.
Each experience added more rhythm to my life — and more reason to share what I’ve learned with the world.
What We Cover at Vanidad.fr
This site is my personal expression and a shared journey. We explore:
-
Bachata: History, social etiquette, urban vs. traditional styles, and class reviews.
-
Kizomba: From its Angolan roots to French underground growth.
-
Salsa: Cuban vs. LA style, footwork drills, community events.
-
Belly Dance: North African influence, modern performances, and feminine power.
Everything is written with love, curiosity, and a commitment to culture. I believe in educating without overwhelming, and celebrating without commercializing.
Why Vanidad?
The name Vanidad means vanity — but not the shallow kind. For me, it’s the bold beauty of self-expression. The sparkle in a dancer’s eye. The unapologetic sway of hips. It’s about being seen, being felt, and being free.
Let’s Keep Moving Together
Vanidad.fr isn’t just a blog — it’s a growing dance diary, a cultural archive, and a safe space for anyone drawn to rhythm, movement, and storytelling.
If you feel it in your bones when the music drops…
If you’re curious about the soul of every dance move…
If you’re tired of surface-level content and crave deeper knowledge…
Then you’re home here.
Thanks for being part of my rhythm.
